Slow Sundays Live Online Mindfulness Meditation . Sunday, May 27, 2018

Mindfulness, Self Care and Self Compassion Afternoon Retreat . Sunday, June 24, 2018

While the importance of self care is readily acknowledged, for most of us, it is easier said than done. We offer compassion to others, but it’s often challenging to be kind to ourselves. A certified Mindful Self Compassion teacher, Christine will gently guide you through meditations, exercises and reflections, encouraging and supporting you in taking steps that honour your wellbeing and yourself. The kettle is on. Join us for a light lunch, tea, sweets and heartwarming conversations. Our intimate afternoon gathering will be held in the beautiful Cove Burgh Hall.

Encouraging change with self compassion rather than self criticism. The realization of how we are all struggling in our own ways. I am not alone.

Mini Mindfulness, Self Care and Self Compassion Lunch Hour Session

Concepts were presented and students were supported in applying the approach in practical everyday ways both in school as well as in life outside of school. The event was organized by the school Public Health Nurse, Secondary School Program, Health Families Division and offered to a group of high school students during their lunch hour.

Christine showed a great command of her subject and helped to convey a difficult topic well. The Mindfulness input and exercises stretched us beyond habitual assumptions and behaviours. The instructor and information presented was both interesting and informative. I suggest that even more senior officers should be encouraged to attend.

Easing Stress Through Mindfulness

Stress is a part of the human condition. We all go through stressful times – at home, school, work or all of the above. While life stress is a given, the way that we relate to stress influences our wellbeing. This afternoon event, hosted over tea, scones, strawberries and cream at the beautiful Old Mill Toronto, was intended to support participants in easing stress through the practice of mindfulness. They learned about the physical, emotional and mental impact of stress. They were guided through meditations, exercises and reflections intended to restore and inspire them to healthily address their life stress.
