Join us for twenty minutes or stay for the whole hour of mindfulness practice. With mindfulness, we train ourselves to pay close attention to what is going on in the present moment; just as it is. When we connect with the present moment, we become aware of habitual thought patterns and can start to create new, healthier ways of responding to life’s challenges.

I am honoured to join the faculty of the Center for Mindful Self Compassion and am grateful for the opportunity to teach the full Mindful Self Compassion program Live Online (LOMSC).   The course that is ideal for those people who do not have access to MSC in their area, who have commitments or mobility issues that make it difficult to leave home to do a course, or who have already done MSC and would like a refresher. LOMSC has the same content as MSC programs offered in a classroom and is taught live by a certified MSC teacher.

Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) combines the skills of mindfulness and self-compassion to enhance our emotional well-being. While mindfulness increases our awareness of the present, self-compassion encourages greater kindness and understanding of periods of suffering. Participants will learn to befriend their self–critic, develop self-compassion skills, and foster goodwill towards themselves and others. No previous experience with mindfulness or meditation is required. All are welcome. The program is beneficial for graduates of mindfulness-based programs, such as MBCT and MBSR. The program qualifies as the prerequisite for training as a Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) teacher as well as a prerequisite for training as a Making Friends with Yourself (MFY) teacher.

Mini Mindfulness, Self Care and Self Compassion Lunch Hour Session

Concepts were presented and students were supported in applying the approach in practical everyday ways both in school as well as in life outside of school. Easing Stress Through Mindfulness

Stress is a part of the human condition. We all go through stressful times – at home, school, work or all of the above. While life stress is a given, the way that we relate to stress influences our wellbeing. This afternoon event, hosted over tea, scones, strawberries and cream at the beautiful Old Mill Toronto, was intended to support participants in easing stress through the practice of mindfulness. They learned about the physical, emotional and mental impact of stress. They were guided through meditations, exercises and reflections intended to restore and inspire them to healthily address their life stress.
