Cultivating Compassionate Connections

Connect

The warmest of welcomes to you.

"I am making a home inside myself…a fiercely friendly place I can claim as my very own." - Julia Fehrenbacher

With warmth, grace and grounded strength

I instil calm and nurture loving connections – within ourselves, with one another, and within community. My name is Christine Grace McMulkin and I am a certified, seasoned, and revered Mindful Self Compassion Teacher, a Mindful Self Compassion Teacher Trainer and Mentor, and a Compassion Focused Therapist. Self Compassion bolsters our capacity to attend to ourselves tenderly and to take self honouring actions. Self Compassion supports us in meeting life’s transitions with courage and in living with more ease and contentment. Deep devotion to my personal practice continues to be foundational to my wellbeing. Through navigating times of personal change and challenge, I have learned and live the importance of being with ourselves in kinder, gentler, and emboldening ways. As well as the practices of Mindfulness and Self Compassion, I am supported by beach walks at dawn, singing soulful songs, dancing with carefree abandon to some old-fashioned rock and roll, hikes with a beloved golden retriever, heartfelt and laughter filled moments with family and friends, and endless cups of tea. The kettle is on. I welcome connecting with you.

  • "I would like to express my deepest gratitude to you, for facilitating this course which has impacted me greatly. The process was not so easy because self-compassion was something unfamiliar to me before joining this program. I will try to apply all the learnings I got from here, because I know it will transform me to be a better person. Self-compassion is the thing my soul had missed my whole life, you can't imagine how blessed that God directed my way to this. I really like the approach you applied to the program, each and every insight I got from you touched my heart."
  • "Thank you so much for leading us in the practice of mindful self-compassion for ten impactful weeks.  I very much appreciate your leadership and teaching style; you are very welcoming and engaging, open and flexible, authentic and approachable.  I immediately began using our learnings in my therapy practice and it has been quite meaningful.  I have been inspired to become certified as a teacher of mindful self-compassion and look forward to checking off the requirements, such as a first-time silent retreat, on my journey to certification. Thank you for your time and for the care you brought to our course."
  • "I’m reaching out first and foremost to thank you for providing an incredibly enriching and impactful course this past fall. Since completing the course, I’ve continued to practice the MSC meditations and integrate the concepts into my day-to-day life and have seen some very positive shifts. I’ve also done some research into the teacher training pathway and am eager to pursue this moving forward."
  • "Thank you so much for leading the course so wonderfully. I feel much peaceful and happier even during turbulent times. I never truly enjoyed meditation until your course, now it became a daily habit not to check off the list but to support my well-being. I really appreciate the tones and pace of your voice and your authenticity to share your story and to listen to others. I am so grateful. Thank you so much."
  • "Every day I am practicing to be kinder to myself, with this comes  the added benefit  of being kinder to others, especially my children. Thank you for guiding and mentoring us.  I am grateful for your sharing of personal lived experiences and professional knowledge and experience. During the final session for the LOMSC  your inclusion of me in the group even though I was absent made me feel valued, seen and included.  Your thoughtful, kind, inclusive action has had a lasting positive impact on my life and when I reflect on that moment those positive feelings are present.  I am grateful to you for your thoughtfulness and kindness which made me feel valued and wanted."
  • "I want to express my deep gratitude for these many months spent together in mindfulness practice and in connecting as another human being in this kaleidoscope of life.  I must say that this weekly class/practice has felt like a rhythmic beat of a heart.  A warm embrace.  It has been lovely to be a part of the community that you create. You, personally, have been incredibly meaningful to me on this journey.  A beacon through rough seas in our world right now.  I want you to know the profound impact that your presence and your teaching has had on my personal journey.  Thank you."
  • "Thank you Christine, for your kindness, your embodiment of compassion, and your wise way of guiding our gatherings."

At the heart of Compassion Focused Therapy

is befriending ourselves and our humanness, as we navigate the inevitable challenges and accompanying pain, that is part of our life journeys. Cultivating an inner ally and place of safe refuge provides us with a secure base, foundational in quieting of the often harsh voice of self criticism, and making room for a more compassionate voice to emerge. Compassion Therapy is my specialty. I have completed the Self Compassion in Psychotherapy Certificate Program and Advanced Training in Compassion Focused Therapy. Training Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy and Trauma Informed approaches also infuse my practice. Conversations and reflections, education and exercises, practices and meditations, and intuitive wisdom support the creation of a personalized approach and the cultivation of inner resources and tools that nurture your healing and your capacity to be with yourself in kinder, gentler, and emboldened ways. Whether you are seeking guidance in navigating the impact of life stresses, losses, transitions, burdens, anxieties and depressions. Whether you have engaged in Mindful Self Compassion teachings or a training program and are seeking to explore your fears, blocks and resistances to self compassion and deepen your understanding and practice. I am devoted to supporting you in cultivating self honouring changes in your life. I welcome new clients to my online private practice in September 2023. Connect with me if you would like to set a time for a 20 conversation to explore the possibility of engaging in a therapeutic compassionate journey with me. Note: I am a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Worker and Social Service Workers and am licensed to offer therapy services in the provinces of Ontario and Quebec.
